    What Does Each Package Cover?

    One family Lines

    This service covers :

    • reconstructing one direct family line of a chosen starting person: their father, that father’s father, and so on).
    • Identifying and recording the spouse of each direct male ancestor without researching her own line.
    • In the event of a break in the direct male line (for example, orphans or illegitimacy), we follow the next available line. For example, if a person has only a mother, we follow the father of that mother.

This diagram illustrates the scope of research for this option. Genealogy depends on historical record availability and family realities (unknown paternity, missing records, dead ends). Research is always adapted to what the archives reveal.

    The Expertise Behind Our Research

    Rigorous Archival Investigation

We track your lineage through verified French records using a methodical, source-first approach, accross multiple sources. Parish registers, civil records, and archival collections are cross-checked to establish solid links and avoid guesswork.

    Language as a Bridge

Original images of French records are provided, accompanied by their English translations. Names, dates, relationships and nuances are all preserved, providing a clear and accurate representation of each document.

    Understanding of the context

Each finding is rooted in its time and place. Local history, occupations and social context transform individual records into a coherent and meaningful narrative.

The research depth depends on the starting person’s birth date, the availability of historical records, and the research time included in your selected package.

For a starting person born in the late 19th century or later, research may reach the mid-to-late 18th century.

If the starting person was born before 1800, research may extend into the early 18th century or, in some cases, the late 17th century.

These are indicative possibilities, not guarantees. Some family lines can be traced further than others, and no specific number of generations is promised.

We need at least one concrete, verifiable piece of information to establish a starting point for the research. This might be a full name, a date, or a location documented in a source such as a census record, marriage certificate, or death certificate.

Partial information and spelling variations can sometimes be investigated.

Family documents, photographs, and details already known about your ancestors can also help guide the research.

After your order is confirmed, you will receive an intake questionnaire to collect this information. You can complete it online or return the PDF version by email.

Your project is activated, and the estimated research timeline begins, once we have received both your payment or deposit and your completed intake questionnaire.

Please return the questionnaire within 30 days of our request. If it is not returned within that period, or if essential information is incomplete or inaccurate, we may suspend the project in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

The estimated completion time depends on the package you select:

    – One Family Line: 6–8 weeks.
    – Two Family Lines: 6–10 weeks.
    -Four Family Lines: 6–12 weeks.

These estimates cover research, writing, and production of the printed deliverables. Actual completion times may vary or exceed these estimates depending on research complexity, archival availability, workload, and production conditions. International shipping may add further time.
