Research scope

For each of the four grandparents, the research follows the direct male line – the grandfather, his father, and so on – as far as records and the 26‑hour time budget allow.

If a direct male line is broken, the next available line is followed (for example, the father of the mother).

Spouses are recorded, but their own line is not researched. All research is performed within the 26 allocated hours, using French archival sources and is delivered in English.

It may exceptionally extend to Belgium and Luxembourg.

What you receive

  • One 120-to-200 page printed book covering all four reconstructed lines and containing English transcriptions of the records found
  • One 150-to-200 page booklet containing the original record images (typical number of records found: 50 to 80, subject to record availability). Please note: This booklet is not included in the service price and is offered on a complimentary basis due to potential copyright and reuse restrictions imposed by archives.
  • Four pedigree charts, one per reconstructed line

Page counts and the number of records found are good‑faith estimates based on typical outcomes; actual figures depend on what the archives contain and may be higher or lower.

Research depth

For a starting person born after the late 1800s, the research may reach the mid‑ to late 1700s.

If the starting person was born before 1800, it may stretch into the early 1700s or, in some cases, the late 1600s.

Everything depends on what records have survived.

Process

1. After your order and payment (full or 50% deposit), you fill out an intake form with known names, dates, places, and any documents you have. 2. Once the form is returned, the research phase starts. 3. The printed book, booklet, and charts are shipped to your postal address (or to another address you specify before dispatch).
