We offer three services, depending on your research goals.
– Family Tree traces your family history in France through several generations.
– Brick Wall Breaker is a focused investigation to resolve a single research impasse and confirm a person’s identity.
– With Ancestor Biography, we focus on one ancestor and their immediate family, searching for all retrievable documents about them in France.
You can schedule a consultation or contact us, describe what you know, and we will guide you toward the most appropriate service (or tell you honestly if research is unlikely to progress).
We can research any starting person (male or female) who is of French origin, or who lived, married, or died in France, regardless of their nationality.
Your research project can begin with a direct ancestor, a collateral relative, or any individual with a documented connection to France.
Your deliverables depend on the service you choose.
Family Tree: A personalised printed book, pedigree chart or charts, and an accompanying booklet containing images of the original records found.
Ancestor Biography: A personalised printed book, a pedigree chart, and an accompanying booklet containing images of the original records found.
Brick Wall Breaker: A detailed genealogical research report in PDF format, together with a separate digital annex containing images of the original records found.
English transcriptions of the relevant records are included in the research deliverables. Original-record booklets and digital annexes are provided on a complimentary basis, subject to the applicable archival restrictions.
You can book a free 30-minute consultation before ordering. We can discuss what you know about your ancestor, the records or documents you already have, and which service appears suitable for your goals.
After your order is confirmed, we provide access to an intake questionnaire. You can complete it online or download the PDF version and return it by email. The questionnaire allows you to share the names, dates, places, family documents, and photographs that may help guide the research.
Your customer account is created automatically after purchase. You can access the questionnaire through the link provided in your email and through your account.
Your project timeline begins once we have received both your payment or deposit and your completed questionnaire.
Estimated completion times vary by service and package:
Family Tree: approximately 6–12 weeks, depending on the package.
Brick Wall Breaker: approximately 2–6 weeks.
Ancestor Biography: approximately 6–10 weeks.
These are estimates, not guaranteed deadlines. Research complexity, archival availability, workload, and production or shipping conditions may affect the actual completion time. For the Family Tree service, the relevant estimate depends on the number of family lines selected.
Printed books, record booklets, and pedigree charts are shipped to the postal address you provide when ordering. You can specify a different delivery address, for example when ordering a gift.
Shipping is included in the service price. Printed deliverables are sent using a tracked delivery service. Any applicable import duties, customs charges, or local taxes are your responsibility.
You can pay the full price at checkout or choose to pay a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due before delivery.
For the Brick Wall Breaker service, the balance must be paid before the PDF report is delivered. For printed services, the balance must be paid before the personalised items enter production and are shipped.
